Lost Planet 3.. Gotta love them prequels to the sequels

Yet another prequel game that pre-tell the human colonial of the planet EDN-III. Thanks to Spark Unlimited, this 2014 prequel to the sequel game has return to its RPG FPS genre rather than the arcade-like genre... (I'm looking at you Lost Planet 2)
When I first installed this, I was like.. "meh, its gonna be like Lost Planet 2 and EDN-III has frozen again".. then I got to play an RPG of the blue collar giant robot monster killer guy named John Peyton... actually more like he is already old and was telling his granddaughter Diana about how they ended up in EDN-III and the whole gameplay is reliving his story.
The whole gameplay consist of your usual LP monster hunting but what Spark Unlimited did was added a horror survival theme in it. The game has me playing in abandoned outposts which has that eerie lights and weird noises... kinda reminds me of Dead Space.. and yea, I got to go toe-to-toe with some giant crab Akrid..
I wont be going through the whole storyline here else i might reveal some spoilers. The only thing i found lacking was the instant travel part where you actually have to go the the edge of the map to fast travel also the umbilical support thingy (kinda forget the name) where you will only get radar and nav point support if you are near your Rig (a.k.a Giant Robot that B**ch slap Giant Monsters). Storyline wise, I am a big fan of sequels, prequels game franchise that have great storylines... so I'm gonna give this a thumbs up because you kinda get that character immersion feel (2nd to Mass Effects) which leaves me satisfied and pleased.
I would recommend this to gamers that enjoys a good storyline RPG game and likes to take their time playing it...trust me, you can't rush a good story.
Overall, the plus point was that it has a good storyline and immerse character gameplay, and if you are a big LP fan, this is a must grab...though you'll find how it is connected to the main protagonist of Lost Planet 1..
Meet Jim Peyton, a gun welding robot riding monster killin SOB

See.. Human vs Giant King Crab
